Resumen
The "Taxidermist" Project explores the relationship between memory, architectural spaces, and the symbolism of the raven, taking the biblical account of the flood as its starting point. The project seeks to investigate the history and symbolism of the raven in various cultures, as well as to poetically recover the memory of abandoned architectural spaces. It is divided into two thematic blocks: "Before the Flood," which explores the biblical chapters and the historical and mythological raven, and "After the Flood," which is based on a story by Fernando Cuervo and a flight log. Intertextuality is key to the structure of the project, creating a significant weave between text, material, and experience.
The main objective is to create an interdisciplinary project that integrates architecture, painting, photography, performance, literature, and textiles. The result seeks to evoke memories and the duality of existence through actions, objects, and their plastic representation. The project is based on the autobiographical experiences of Fernando Cuervo, such as memories of inhabited spaces and the artisanal work of his family. The final exhibition will include costumes, chests, photographs, and objects found during the journey, seeking to dissect the moment and keep it alive in memory.
