Phytophagous insects in commercial plantations of Acacia mangium Willd. on the Atlantic coast and eastern plains of Colombia

| dc.description | Phytophagous insects causing damage on foliage, tree trunk and seeds in commercial plantations of Acacia mangium Willd. located in Córdoba and Meta forested regions of Colombia were determined. Observations were made in fixed plots as well as in general survey trips prioritizing previously detected infestations. Observations were made during the humid and dry season of the year. Twenty-seven insect species were found on foliage, tree trunk and seeds. Besides Atta spp. attacks, no economical affectations were detected; however, Xyleborus and Teloplatypus infestations cause concern for the consequences of their damage. | en-US |
| dc.description | Se identificaron los insectos fitófagos actual o potencialmente dañinos y se caracterizaron los daños que estos ocasionan al fuste, follaje y semillas de árboles en plantaciones comerciales de Acacia mangium Willd., localizadas en núcleos forestales de los departamentos de Córdoba y Meta, priorizando lotes con antecedentes de problemas fitosanitarios. Las observaciones presentadas se realizaron en parcelas fijas y en recorridos generales en las plantaciones, en épocas de lluvias y en periodos secos. Se registraron veintisiete especies dañinas en el follaje, fuste y semillas. Además de los ataques de Atta spp., no se registraron otras afectaciones de importancia económica. Sin embargo, las infestaciones de Xyleborus y Teloplatypus causan preocupación por las consecuencias de sus daños. | es-ES |
