Resumen
In Bogotá the poor condition of the road network and the lack of road repairs impact the citizens' quality of life and increase the risk of traffic accidents. Specifically, Carrera 96C between Calle 17 and Calle 20 features deteriorated pavement that could worsen without preventive measures. To address this issue, an assessment of the current pavement condition was conducted, identifying various types of damage. Ultimately, a suitable pavement structure is suggested to ensure safe and sustainable mobility in this area. Techniques such as visual analysis and evaluation of the structural condition were employed for the pavement's current state assessment, revealing damages like cracks, sinkholes, and deformations. It's crucial to emphasize that implementing this solution would not only enhance the residents' quality of life but also reduce long-term costs. A well-built pavement designed to withstand traffic loads requires fewer repairs and maintenance. Repairing Carrera 96C between Calle 17 and Calle 20 would positively impact the sector's mobility, serving as a crucial access route for nearby neighborhoods. The road repair could contribute to reducing traffic congestion and improving traffic flow in the area. Another essential aspect to consider is the social and economic impact of a poorly maintained road network on the local residents. For instance, the lack of accessibility to workplaces, schools, and medical services can limit people's opportunities and affect their quality of life. Additionally, insufficient investment in road infrastructure may discourage private investment and negatively impact the local economy.
