Resumen
The Voices and Regions program on Arbona Estéreo, produced by the Ministry of the Interior, featured an interview with Lásides Marrugos, the Municipal Ombudsman of Arjona, discussing human rights awareness. The conversation covered the three generations of human rights: civil and political; economic, social, and cultural; and collective rights, such as environmental protection. Marrugos emphasized the importance of human rights education from early childhood, teaching children about their rights and protection mechanisms. He also explained the process for filing complaints with the Ombudsman’s office and the role of this institution in overseeing public entities. The discussion highlighted the need for greater public awareness of human rights, the promotion of human rights committees in vulnerable communities, and the impact of Congress on human rights legislation.
