Resumen
This paper applies the general characteristics of the so-called "Internet of Things" (IoT short) in a project aimed at measuring variables, typical of a home automation system environment. IoT has matured as a result of the development of new communications devices that allow easy access to Internet-connected networks and the emergence of electronic identification systems, able to share information about the objects to which they are associated. A selection process measurement sensors consumer portable water and electricity is made, as well as the communication method and the wireless module to be included in the IoT objects, and that will provide interactivity to the devices. Firmware development of IoT object, its operating modes and configuration as well as a number of concepts associated with measurement detail. Selection of software tools and network necessary for the connection and the development of client and server applications described, with emphasis on the use of Websocket as a method of communication at the application level. Use of QR tags as a method is made to establish the link between the IoT objects and their virtual identity. Finally, the conclusions of this work, future considerations and a manual operation of the devices and interfaces are exposed. IoT is immersed within the framework of so-called ubiquitous systems whose aim is to transform the current computing one where the computer systems in general are immersed naturally in human and interconnected through intelligent networking environments.
