Resumen
The present work consisted of the multitemporal analysis of the vegetation cover and the effectiveness of the biomechanical and bioengineering works that were executed to stabilize degraded areas and prevent the advance of erosion in the area where said works were carried out within the Checua Project that It began in the Checua River basin located 60 kilometers north of Bogotá DC, which includes the Municipalities of Nemocón, Cogua, Tausa, Cucunubá and Suesca in the department of Cundinamarca. Subsequently and in successive phases, it was extended to the basins of the Cucunubá Lagoon, Suta River and Ubaté, Fúquene Lagoon, works carried out by the autonomous regional corporation of Cundinamarca-CAR with the support of the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ ). The purpose of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the biomechanical works that were carried out to avoid the problem of erosive deterioration in the soils of the area, and its subsequent recovery in terms of vegetation cover in the corresponding period from 1987 to 2018, Through satellite images and aerial photographs, the methodology used was based on a process of classification of Landsat satellite images for identification, and analysis of the covers and changes in the soil in order to determine the state of restoration of the landscape. The land use changes were derived from the classification of four Landsat TM, ETM and OLI-TIRS images with a spatial resolution of 30 meters taken in December 1987, January 1998, December 2009 and December 2018.
