Resumen
In this paper, a fault detection technique is developed for a reactor continuous stirried tank reactor (CSTR). Initially, a description is made CSTR with failing devices. For the design of the fault detection system uses a CSTR simulator in the Matlab environment, which uses a system identifier and a driver neural predictive controller. Subsequently, simulations are carried out under conditions of failure of three reactor devices to establish the thresholds that allow that the process does not get out of control. The detection system compares the CSTR under normal operating conditions with the CSTR under fault and generates alerts. Finally, a user interface is developed to alert the operator of the process on the detected failures, and can thus make the necessary decisions to avoid incidents or accidents in a plant.
