Resumen
Food production is and has been an issue of great importance, the human population grows at accelerated rates, generating with it an increase in food consumption and turn the degradation of the natural resources of our world. Aquaponics is today a sustainable innovative system that integrates efficiently and cyclical, two production chains; that of red tilapia and that of vegetables such as lettuce; Aquaponics is a food production system integrated by aquaculture and hydroponics, in this case fish and plant farming (Somerville et al., 2014). In the case of this project, the aquaponic model applied to the species will be developed. of red Tilapia and lettuce as a vegetable, this taking into account that this combination species has been successful in other projects and that these end products have a high demand and a supply opportunity to cover in the department of Cundinamarca.
