La investigación en el área de sistemas de gestión integrada (SIG). Caracterización en centros reconocidos y grupos de investigación categorizados por Colciencias

Abstract

Integrated Management Systems (IMS), have become a powerful tool to improve the competitiveness of organizations, generating significant benefits through cost minimization, optimization of resources, increased productivity, among others; which has generated that it becomes an important object of analysis and research in the academic and business field. In this context, the present study is developed in order to characterize the research in the GIS area, carried out by the research groups and centers recognized and categorized by Colciencias in the 2017 call. For the fulfillment of this purpose the analysis is used of quantitative and direct content, within the framework of which three phases are defined: the identification of associated research groups, the selection of publications in the area, which constitute the Analysis Unit (AU) and finally the definition of categories from which are classified and characterize the UA. In conclusion, the results of this project demonstrate that GIS in the Colombian context have been little explored, so it is necessary to search for strategies that allow progress in the area, considering that GIS are currently constituted as a tool significant for organizations; Thus, the contributions of this project, mainly the identification of actors and gaps, become an important element for the advancement of research in the area.
