Resumen
Theatrical improvisation is a highly relevant and widely used method in the field of performing arts. One of the main objectives of actresses and actors is creation, and this is where theatrical improvisation plays a crucial role in encouraging them to rediscover themselves and investigate new territories outside their comfort zone. At the beginning of 2022, during my ninth semester of the Performing Arts curricular project at the ASAB Faculty of Arts of the Francisco José de Caldas District University in Bogotá, Colombia, I faced my first degree production with guest director Sebastián Uribe Tobón . Although I had no prior knowledge of his methodology, he soon presented my team and me with a new challenge: theatrical improvisation with the aim of creating a scenic montage. Today, after several months, I perceive this creative process as a process that involves ups and downs, successes, errors, uncertainty, achievements, listening, playing and learning, among other aspects. As an actress, I believe that no performing artist should miss the opportunity to rediscover, challenge themselves, and immerse themselves once again in the unimaginable. It is for this reason that I decide to undertake this written adventure with you, where we will delve into the technique of theatrical improvisation, exploring everything from the comedy of art to the discoveries and techniques of Jerzy Grotowski and the Living Theatre. All this with the purpose of immersing you in the Less 16 montage and sharing my experience in creating the character Samantha Castro.
