Abstract

In this research, the study of the method of structural reinforcement called reinforced concrete cladding of structural elements (beams and columns) is studied, initially studying the symptoms of structural pathologies, as well as the vulnerability analysis necessary for the intervention of a structure, passing through a timeline of the Colombian normativity that deals with the topic of structural reinforcement. As a result of the study a manual was developed that begins with the introduction and description of the method, continuing with the presentation of the step by step to design these structural elements with and without the cladding in two specialized software (SAP2000 and spColumn), and at the end of the manual, a compilation of the execution and implementation of this method of structural reinforcement is presented.
