Resumen
Modern cryptography is strongly influenced by principles of security, and is widely used in portable devices that require some level of privacy. These design compromises are achieved not only by the use of high-performance hardware, which has been the current natural tendency, but also for the implementation of lightweight high performance algorithms, such as the Present algorithm. The Present algorithm is a lightweight block encryption scheme relatively new, not infringed to date, and with features that make it interesting for implementation in embedded hardware and software. This work presents the study, design, implementation and testing of this cipher algorithm, where the theoretical concepts are shown, and metrics for different implementations to identify the strengths of each type of embedded implementation are discussed.
