Resumen
This image contains news about The state that was entrusted to me has been invaded by a rebel army led by Villa, the governor of Cauca, General Tomás de Mosquera. I fulfilled my constitutional and moral duty by calling on arms to defend our territory, property and honor. Cundinamarca should regret, but not fear, the invasion, since it has the resources of its territory and the demonstrated courage of its inhabitants. Just as in 1818 and 1840, today it is the object of unjust and unjustifiable aggression. As in 1813 and 1840, we will demonstrate that we are indomitable through weapons. Compatriots, the wealth of our lands and the value of our fields are coveted by invaders. Let us remember how a group of Antioquians bravely defended their land in Manizales. Today, the invaders arrive in Cundinamarca in search of fortune, but they will encounter resistance, as they did in Antioquia. Let us not allow the ashes of our ancestors to be trampled by invaders thirsty for blood and gold. Cundinamarca, cradle of American independence, will defend its freedom with pride, from Venezuela to Ayacucho. News published in the newspaper La Gaceta de Cundinamarca, No. 185, December 14 - 1860
