Resumen
In this section of the Voces y Regiones program, the topic of diversity and sexual orientation is discussed, focusing on the different sexualities that exist. The meaning of the acronym LGBTIQ+ is explained, which includes lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender people, intersex individuals, queer people, and other sexual and gender identities. Additionally, it highlights how these sexual orientations have gained visibility and acceptance in Colombia, a country that, despite progress in human rights and inclusive laws, still faces cultural and social challenges related to the full integration of these communities. The topic reflects how, over time, the fight for the rights of LGBTIQ+ individuals has transformed Colombian society, promoting greater understanding and respect for sexual diversity.
