Resumen
At the time of performing the chewing function, the teeth are subjected to large loads; the different structures that make it up: enamel, dentin and pulp; They make it a unique structure, knowing their behavior under the action of these charges, as well as the effects on their properties given the presence of pathologies in their structure, would allow research and development of new materials in the solution of dental complications. After a review of the composition and microstructure of the dentin, a modeling and simulation by finite elements of the mechanical behavior will be carried out, and how the dentin supports the efforts through a structure similar to the real one, and how this is affected by the pathology , for then make a comparison between both structures that allows us to observe how the distribution of efforts on dentin works with and without pathology and what would be the research perspectives in this field.
