Resumen
The present project seeks to solve a business failure by identifying in an area of extraction of granular material high clusters of pumice rock, which are separated to give access to the aggregates where normal concrete is manufactured. The mentioned light aggregate were made, a mineralogical, chemical, mechanical and physical recognition, establishing affinity with the different components of a concrete mixture. Next step, a mixture design was produced using the parameters established by the American regulations A.C.I - 211.2; The concrete obtained was subjected to compression tests in order to implement a statistical analysis as indicated in the technical standard NTC - 2275 measuring its quality, establishing as a final conclusion a design that allows the reduction of cement quantity and probably managed to produce a lightweight 21 MPa structural concrete made from pumice rock material extracted from Flanders - Tolima.
