Resumen
Starting from the conviction that creation and theatrical theory arise from the body and the practice itself, Génesis Teatro adopts the research-creation as the natural course towards the encounter of theatrical knowledge, in the insatiable need to discover and strengthen a language of its own. Therefore, from the experimentation and staging of the play Mother Courage by Bertolt Brecht, this group, by taking as axes the tragic, the gestus, the antihero, the theatricality and the imbalance, undertakes this inquiry in which the tragic has a strong emphasis on the Dionysian, based on the innate connection between music and dance. This research-creation allows us to see the importance of the confluence of these two disciplines, as languages, tools and material in the construction of the gestus of this tragic anti-heroine, and of how her gestus is nourished and constructed from the dance, revealing other nuances of her tragic fate, for which the words do not suffice.
