The image contains news about the extraordinary sessions of the Providential Legislature held during February 15 to 17. Session of February 15, 1854: In this session, Mr. Ortiz was elected president of the provincial Legislature. In addition, Deputy Diaz was commissioned to inform the Governor about the installation of the Legislature. The Supreme Court also annulled ordinance 195 on judicial circuits, so it was decided to request a copy of the Supreme Court order that annulled the ordinance. A copy of the convocation decree was also requested from the Government.
Regarding the events of the draft ordinance on the judicial circuit of Cáqueza, article 1 was approved with modifications and it was established that all the assets of the parish collector would be affected by the payment of any amount that could be charged to him. In addition, article 2 was approved with a modification proposed by Mr. Trimiño, and article 3 was approved without changes. Mr. Osorio presented a project to eliminate the Cáqueza judicial circuit, but later withdrew it.
Session of February 16, 1854:
In this session, Mr. Ortiz was elected president of the provincial Legislature and several deputies were commissioned to propose ideas on judicial business.
Regarding the developments of the draft ordinance on parish collectors, articles 1, 2 and 3 were approved with the same modifications as mentioned above.
Session of February 17, 1854:
In this session, article 1 of the draft ordinance on parish collectors was approved with the aforementioned modifications. In addition, the discussion of article 2 of the draft ordinance on judicial business was suspended to consider the project to suppress the Cáqueza circuit. A fine of ten pesos was also imposed on deputies who left the session without serious reason and on those who arrived late without a valid excuse. News published in: El Repertorio, February 24, 1854.
