Resumen
The project involves the creation of a cinematic miniature of the theater, combining elements of archaeology and visual narrative. López seeks to highlight the value of the building in its static-dynamic state, as a monument of time and a "rosetta stone" waiting to be translated. The author approaches the nature of early cinema and the spectator's experience, constructing an illusory device that feeds the camera and represents the space where the custom of being a spectator is lived.
The author is interested in the decay of the San Jorge Theater and its history, seeking to rescue and read what the construction has to offer. The project includes the real-time filming of the miniature with practical movement and lighting effects, projected onto a screen in front of the installed object. López uses various sources of documentation, including the Secretary of Culture, Recreation and Sports, Cinefex magazines, and audiovisual documentation pages on practical special effects. The methodology also involves the reconstruction of visual and physical marks on the building to recover the history of the object and give the observer the opportunity to read and create a concept of it.
