Guía metodológica para la presentación y desarrollo de indicadores ambientales para el ordenamiento territorial en municipios colombianos

Abstract

The following document is intended to illustrate the methodology for selecting and developing environmental indicators to be carried out by any territorial entity interested in expanding its environmental database for land use planning. At present, thanks to state entities such as IDEAM or IGAC, much of the information necessary to diagnose the physical problems involved in each territory is available for analysis and evaluation. However, the economic situation of many municipalities leads them to carry out territorial planning studies with incomplete information or at inappropriate scales of study. The purpose of this guide is to teach how municipalities should enrich the environmental thematic structure of their plans or territorial planning schemes based on the diagnosis of the information present in each of their studies and state technical databases, the identification of needs Current zoning and environmental thematic characterization and the appropriate technical methodology to present and develop indicators and environmental variables that meet the identified needs.
