Resumen
In this work, the aspects of energy regeneration focused on applications that make use of variable speed drives and regenerative converters are determined; making a presentation from the basis of the concept to a practical methodology to determine regeneration in continuous cycle and cyclic cycle applications, that is, in the case of reconditioning applications. The second section shows the general concepts of induction motors and variable speed drives. In the third section, the existing types of braking in applications with inverters are determined with an emphasis on dynamic braking, braking chooper and where the dynamic resistance is calculated through a detailed stepper. In section four, the regenerative braking is explored in depth, covering all conceptual aspects from the point of view of the inverters and regenerative converters, taking into account the variants at the circuit level, the different topologies and the associated equipment until reaching to a methodology or sequence for the calculation of regeneration. Finally, the aspects of power quality that are essential to implement an application involving variable speed drives are highlighted.
