The image contains news about the mobile library in Madrid at the beginning of the 19th century, owned by Nicolás Pontón. It begins by praising the growing love of reading among women, but then criticizes the content of the library, accusing it of offering books "corrupting good manners" translated into Spanish for the illiterate. In addition, he criticizes the low price of books, which facilitates their access to all social classes, including those who should not read them. La imagen contiene una noticia acerca de la biblioteca móvil en Madrid a principios del siglo XIX, propiedad de Nicolás Pontón. Se comienza elogiando la creciente afición a la lectura entre las mujeres, pero luego se critica el contenido de la biblioteca, acusándola de ofrecer libros "corruptores de las buenas costumbres" traducidos al español para los analfabetos. Además, critica el bajo precio de los libros, lo que facilita su acceso a todas las clases sociales, incluidas aquellas que no deberían leerlos. El artículo concluye con un llamado a las autoridades para regular la Biblioteca ambulante y proteger al público de sus libros "inmorales".
