The text articulates the works of five artists around two categories, love and food, understood not only as private and domestic experiences (knowing how to prepare, how to serve), but also as circulating public experiences, as goods and services (economy of affection) and as prescriptions for love (love letter, love manuals). From this perspective, a reflection on the role of the feminine in relation to sexuality, love and food is to be found in the works of these artists: on the one hand, the staging of submission, through the strategies of the economy of affection, the manuals of love and domestic devices; on the other, resistance, symbolized by the means of gastronomic rituals.
