Abstract

The image contains news about circular number 52 on the good treatment of slaves, in which several chapters are instructed, one of these is the education of slaves, where it is reported that every owner of slaves of any class or condition must instruct them in the principles of the Catholic religion, on the other hand regarding food and clothing in which the owners of the slaves must dress and feed them in the same way as the women and children with the same condition and these are free and capable to support themselves, in such a way the occupation of the slaves must be in agriculture and other field work and not in sedentary life jobs, on the other hand the rooms and infirmary in which they must be distributed for both sexes being comfortable and sufficient, finally it must be guaranteed that what was agreed for the treatment of slaves and their functions is complied with.
