Resumen
News Consumption on Facebook by High School Students from Parroquial de los Santos Apóstoles School, Regarding Environmental Issues and Their Surroundings is a study that, through quantitative research methods, explored the news consumption habits of 11th-grade students from a school located in the Kennedy district of Bogotá, Colombia. The study analyzed major Colombian media outlets with a presence on Facebook, focusing on environmental news. The primary objective was to understand, at a broad level, how students consume news, as well as the type, format, and content they engage with on this social network. Key conclusions included the need for a stronger commitment to comprehensive environmental education in schools across the capital. Additionally, it was noted that, for this particular sample, news consumption trends align with national studies, showing that social media is the primary platform, with audiovisual content being the most preferred format.
