Resumen
Throughout the internship carried out in CDM Smith, I worked on a project named "Master Plan of the Water Resource of San Andrés Island", a project that was born as a response to the serious water shortage in the Colombian island. The Colombian government received a loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to finance the cost of the Sustainable Development Support Program for the archipelago department of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina. Thus, in October 2015, FINDETER (a state entity) signed a contract with private firm CDM Smith to carry out the project. In short, the Water Resources Master Plan seeks to finish with the current deficit that the island of San Andrés possess in terms of access to the primary resource: drinking water, as well as the appropriate treatment and disposal of wastewater within a temporary framework of thirty years. This document focuses on the III stage of the project, which includes the definitive designs of a Medium Term Plan and the design of individual treatment solutions, especially the design part at the level of conceptual engineering of individual sanitation solutions for five rural sectors of the island. Of course, from the perspective of the functions performed in the internship, contributing as a Geomatics Engineer.
