Resumen
The image contains news about the report presented by the Secretary of the General Directorate of Public Instruction to the General Director of Primary Education of the Union. This document details the state of public education in Colombia, highlighting both administrative deficiencies and achievements in various aspects of the educational system. The problem related to the indolence of some directors and prefects in not presenting the required reports is highlighted, which has made it difficult to collect accurate data on the educational situation. In addition, the report mentions the operation of 21 normal schools in the country, divided between institutions for men and women, and analyzes in detail the financing and expenses of these schools, as well as the conditions of the buildings that house them. The insufficiency of material and human resources is also addressed, such as the lack of teaching objects and the lack of an adequate number of graduated teachers. News published in the Official Gazette. March 16, 1880.
