Resumen
The theory of discrete dynamic systems studies the behavior of the iterations of a continuous function f and shows an evolution from variations in the initial conditions.Smale's horseshoe exhibits the chaotic behavior of the Van Der Pol oscillator, which simply shows the structural stability of the oscillator. Chaos is understood here through [Devaney's] definition: the function must have a dense orbit, dense periodic points and sensitivity to initial conditions.

La teoría de los sistemas dinámicos discretos estudia el comportamiento de las iteraciones de una función continua f y muestra una evolución a partir de variaciones en las condiciones iniciales. La herradura de Smale exhibe el comportamiento caótico del oscilador de Van Der Pol, que simplemente demuestra la estabilidad estructural del oscilador. Aquí se entiende el caos a través de la definición de [Devaney]: la función debe tener una órbita densa, puntos periódicos densos y sensibilidad a las condiciones iniciales.
