Resumen
Currently in the capital of Colombia, accident rate has increased exponentially with the growth of the automotive park, however, paradoxically the construction of road infrastructure has not had a significant investment, either for new highways or adequacy of the Avenues Existing conditions, this condition has generated saturation and overpass of the capacity that the road network can offer, resulting in more aggressive roadway behavior, high stress levels and very low levels of service. The poor condition of the pavement structure, the lack of pedestrian links and the lack of maintenance to the horizontal demarcation and vertical signaling in general are recurrent in the increase of the accident rate. One of the most important secondary avenues of Bogotá is the Avenue First of May, which has a large number of accidents in the years 2015 and 2016. Emphasis is given to the prevailing conditions of operation of the traffic and infrastructure in the section comprised of the Avenida Primero de Mayo between Carrera 52C and Carrera 38, the auditor group "INGE SAV" has made a diagnosis at the level of traffic engineering in order to find the conditions or variables that are generating the accident rate for all the road stakeholders in the sector.
