Abstract

In this section of Voces y Regiones, youth leadership in Montería is highlighted through the organization Jóvenes Marcando Diferencia, an initiative that emerged in response to threats and violence affecting young people in the region. From its inception, the organization has promoted youth integration through marches for life and peace, creating spaces for peaceful resistance and social awareness. Cultural activities have played a fundamental role in motivating youth participation, serving as a key tool for social transformation. The organization primarily focuses on homeless youth, many of whom have been victims of drug addiction and violence, providing them with support and training on essential topics for their well-being and development. Through interactive and engaging methods, the organization educates young people on suicide prevention, sexual and reproductive health, and other crucial issues for fostering positive social change. Their work not only aims to equip youth with tools for personal growth but also encourages leadership and active participation in community development, promoting opportunities for a dignified life free from violence.
