Resumen
This work theoretically analyzes the performance of guadua in an energy dissipating device, based on the advantages of ductility, flexibility, economy, versatility, lightness and ease of acquisition of this material. Initially, the geometrical and mechanical configuration with the highest resistance is evaluated. Then a model of connection of the dissipator to the structural system of a prototype building is designed. Finally, a dynamic comparison of the building with and without the implementation of the energy dissipating devices is carried out by the methods of dynamic elastic spectral analysis and dynamic analysis of an earthquake, using the SAP2000 engineering software. The spectral elastic dynamic analysis compared the total displacements, interstory drifts and vibration modes of the building, while the dynamic analysis of an earthquake compared the displacements, velocities and accelerations of the building nodes. In the dynamic analyses performed, it was possible to demonstrate a decrease in the total displacements, floor drifts, velocities, accelerations and vibration modes of the nodes, when implementing the energy dissipating devices in the structure.
