Abstract

This dissertation is presented in monograph modality. The written work describes the process of transcription, analysis, arrangement and performance of the progressive metal composition "The Dance Of Eternity" by Dream Theater for clarinet and piano, showing the interaction possibilities of both instruments, bearing in mind the formal, rhythmic, melodic, instrumental and technical relationships used in the instruments of the original format, as well as the roles carried out by each of them, in order to have a comprehensive view of the subject prior to its adaptation. Through this work, it is of interest to demonstrate the possibilities of technical deployment of both clarinet and piano through the inclusion of such instruments in the interpretation of genres that are not conventional within their repertoire, through the exploration and research of their sound, technical and interpretive possibilities.
