Resumen
This is a research into children’s knowledge and experiences about esparto grass weaving, represented in a craft tradition that is part of the heritage of the municipality of Cerinza, Boyacá.
Through different workshops, unveiling their knowledge, stories and practices related to basket weaving was possible, which are developed within Cerinza families, as well as to understand their socio-cultural context and how it affects the children’s life projections and the relationships they establish with their environment and family.
The approach of different authors such as: Boaventura de Sousa Santos, Sergio Martinic Pierre Bourdieu, Jorge Larrosa, Guillermo Méndez, gave meaning and accompanied the analysis of stories that were triggered from the children's own experiences, making visible their perspective around the handicraft practice.
