Abstract

This paper gives a description of the process performed in the musical production of four pieces which are part of an EP entitled Inception. The pieces are original compositions created for two different instrumentations, the first one is solo bass and the second a trio consisting of electric bass, keyboard and drums. The description is divided into three stages: preproduction, production and postproduction. Each of them details the activities carried out and their purposes. During the development of musical production, the origin and characteristics of the pieces are established, as well as their fundamental musical elements, which are decisive in the way each one of them is managed. Elements and processes such as planning and documentation for recording, studio recording, audio signal capture of instruments and microphones, editing of audio clips, mixing , audio processing, location of sound elements in the stereo space, mastering of audio files, among others.
