Resumen
The news contains an image of Agreement Number 25 of 1893 establishing the lease of three stores located on 174, 176 and 178 streets. The City Council agrees to the lease of a location for the telephone tower for an approximate sum of $10 monthly. The Revenue Budget for the year 1894 is estimated at $175,641.35, which includes income from rentals of different premises and spaces in the city. In addition, other sources of income are foreseen such as taxes on vehicles and buildings, transportation and telecommunications privileges, among others.
The Cost Budget for the same year is $95,205, guaranteeing coverage of the expenses of the Municipal Public Administration. The credits to cover these expenses are detailed, including salaries and other operating costs. In summary, a balance is expected between the income generated and the operating costs of the municipality for the year 1894, with the objective of maintaining the proper functioning of the city and guaranteeing public services for its inhabitants. The Department of Cemeteries is in charge of regulating the salaries of the administrator, janitor and evaluator in compliance with the regulations. Also mentioned is the construction of a new cemetery and the purchase of land for it. As for the Department of Charities and Rewards, money is allocated for the establishment of a dispensary and a hall for the sick, as well as to help the Hospital of San Juan de Dios. The use of funds for different municipal public works, such as repairs to streets, bridges and sewers, is also detailed. Finally, the allocation of resources for municipal primary education and support for poor homeowners in the construction of sewers and pavements is mentioned, following previous municipal agreements.
