Ontogenia, una reflexión de la creación plástica y las prácticas alternativas del cuidado corporal

Abstract

The alleged "alternative practices" currently used for body care, are still considered activities far from the norm of the daily life in our country. Either due to ignorance or aversion to their speech; they belong to a phenomenon so full of principles, beliefs and practices, which result in a broad field to explore. The manifestation of ideas of “self-healing” and in support of these ones the idea of “self-help”, which suggests a responsibility of the subject and their future, promote intentional actions for the transformation of one's own life under different methods, typical of traditions “foreign” to the west and from eastern cultures or rather from an indigenous legacy maintained thanks to orality. This project develops a reflection that seeks to understand these practices as agents of transformation for those who take them, proposing a discussion from the Plastic arts and their relation with the body; thought of as malleable material and in continuous process of change, as well as manager and receiver of the proposal about the creation of oneself.
