Resumen
With the purpose of composing a work as a graduation project to obtain the title of Master in Musical Arts at the ASAB, I chose to write a mixed piece for two tiplistas (who play three tiples) and tape. In this text, the reader will find information annexed to the work, concerning the materials used and the way in which these are related throughout the composition. The mixed format is of interest to me because of the possibility of combining live instruments (which follow the indications of the score) with tape, with all the possibilities that the latter offers to manipulate the sound. In this case, the source of sound material for the tape is the tiple. The choice of the tiple as the main instrument in the work lies in its timbre, which, thanks to the combination of octaves in its courses, makes it stand out among plucked string instruments. Also, in my instrumental practice, a taste for this instrument has germinated in its different manifestations as an accompanist and soloist, in popular and academic music, which motivates me to work with it in this composition. Furthermore, although there are precedents of academic works involving the tiple, it is a motive for me to contribute with this piece to the growing literature for the instrument.
