n what ways is everything that pertains to art and its relation to what, in principle, seems not to be art, represented? We decided to look at this problem in a series of critical readings published in the print media of Argentina about two recent entries by artists from that country in international art biennales: “The Soul Never Thinks Without an Image”, entered in the 29th São Paulo Biennale and “Eva-Argentina. A Contemporary Metaphor “, the country’s entry in the 55th Venice Biennale. We examine the metaphors used in the articles to refer to art and its relationship with politics, and find two main lines: the rhetoric of war and the semantic field of the territorial.
