Propuesta metodológica para determinar la sostenibilidad urbana de San Juan de Pasto bajo la perspectiva de entropía urbana

Abstract

The cities in growth have an unsustainable horizon from the urbanistic point of view, which leads to each urban system to disorganize and finally, to disintegrate. At present, urban systems worldwide tend to improve their structure by measuring their dynamics and trying to make a sustainable turn to their own activities. In this way, the present research work tries to give insights on the urban sustainability of San Juan de Pasto, carrying out a bibliographical revision of urban variables whose theoretical basis is the urban entropy, raising information concerning to these variables, analyzing the statistical characteristics of the information, weighting the variables and systems with experts, constructing the Entropic Urban Sustainability Index (IESU) and finally, using the IESU to determine the urban sustainability of the city. The evaluation and validation of IESU shows that San Juan de Pasto must improve aspects in which it is still unsustainable, however, the urban system shows that it is very sustainable in others factors.
