Resumen
The Weekly Journal of the New Kingdom of Granada was the first scientific publication in the Viceroyalty of New Granada. It was printed at the printing press of Bruno Espinosa de los Monteros and edited by the Popayán-born scientist Francisco José de Caldas. In the March 1808 issue, Caldas presents "Discourse on Education," continuing the analysis begun in previous issues on the importance of education in the Viceroyalty. Caldas reflects on the need to educate young people and promote scientific knowledge as a foundation for social progress. He also presents weather records for Santafé during February 1808, highlighting temperatures, atmospheric phenomena, and their relationship to agriculture and daily life. These observations reflect his interest in systematizing scientific data and giving it practical application. Document digitized by the National Library of Colombia.
