Resumen
The university internship was held at the José Celestino Mutis Botanical Garden of Bogotá. Due to the health emergency caused by SARS-2 Covid-19, it was developed from virtuality in the Educational and Cultural Subdirectorate, Participation. The Torca saltpeter basin team was supported with virtual work; consolidating the matrix of actors, statistical organization of the characterizations of some orchards, participating in virtual events organized by the Torca Saltpeter Basin team, and in some face-to-face events. The Ministry of Agriculture legitimizes “alternative agriculture” to meet international requirements, but it does not pay attention to the cultural or the ecosystem. Conventional agriculture uses a large amount of agrochemicals offered by the agroindustry, such as herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, among others. Many of them cause great edaphic damage, destroying the soil microbiota, surrounding biota, and supply waters, also affecting the health of producers and consumers. A virtual market was designed where growers from the capital can offer their products to consumers in their locality. This initiative was accompanied by a compilation of agroecological practices in the garden, with the purpose of bringing academic and technical knowledge closer to the growers or consumers who participate in this space. This “virtual market of Bogotá” develops agroecological practices in growers and encourages citizens to obtain an organic product, at a lower price and of better quality, without pesticides or agrochemicals, eliminating intermediaries that devalue the profit and increase the net price of the product.
