Fondo documental Ernesto Sánchez Gómez. Un aporte a la memoria de la música bogotana del siglo XX

Abstract

The Degree Project Documentary Fund Ernesto Sánchez Gómez. A Contribution to the Memory of the Bogotana Music of the 20th Century, presents a documented biographical review of this Colombian composer, bandolist and teacher (1924-2013) that was constructed from interviews conducted by the investigating musicians Manuel Bernal and Jaime Cortés between 2001 and 2002 and transcribed for this work. Sections related to: his beginnings in music, his approach to written music, musical career, activity as a teacher, musical work and the recognitions received are included. The work continues with the description of the creation of the Ernesto Sánchez Gómez Documentary Fund (FESG) that since May 2019 is part of the documentary collections of the Gabriel Esquinas Center for the Documentation of the Arts of the ASAB, so that teachers, researchers and students can access his legacy. The third chapter provides a descriptive catalog of the scores that are part of the collection, made up of works by Sánchez and other Colombian and Latin American composers, as well as musical literature from different periods; It is constructed in a way that allows access to the content of the score collection. Additionally, the chapter contains various analyzes derived from the catalog, in order to highlight the importance of this documentary heritage.
