Resumen
In this degree project, a study about the uncertainty in the results of the CAE (by the finite element method) is carried out, that uncertainty is produced from some factors immersed in CAD models. To perform the experiment, observation and analysis, simple three-dimensional models were created and simulated in finite elements (with fine meshes by default), varying the following factors: CAD software, geometries generation processes, and export files to CAE. After completing the simulations, the analyzed results are: maximum total deformations and maximum equivalent stresses, hence, the influence of each factor is identified by an analysis of means, in turn, they are compared with results of simulations with user-controlled meshing. On the other hand, information was collected through the state of the art of CAD geometries generation and around the CAD/CAE integration. Finally, this study concluded mainly, how changes of the factors in CAD (involved in experimentation) affect the results of the finite element simulations, and which of these variations makes the results approximating to reference values.
