Abstract

The image contains news about a historical contract between the government and the “Banco de Bogotá”, dated February 7, 1865. This contract is significant because it shows the financial relationship between the government and banking institutions of the time. According to the contract, the government recognizes Banco de Bogotá as a legal entity with the capacity to carry out government operations, except for the issuance of banknotes. The bank undertakes to distribute equitably among shareholders any profits derived from the capital invested in loans by order of the Executive Branch. In addition, rules are established for formal registration and other administrative aspects of the banking operation, in accordance with the laws in force at that time.
