Resumen
In Bogotá, there are fixed sources (industries) and mobile sources (automobile parks) that generate innumerable toxic materials that pollute the air we breathe. In this way, citizens are exposed to this pollution, which is permanently inhaled and which has been shown to cause short, medium and long-term damage to the health of people, especially children, seniors and people with cardiovascular and cardiorespiratory diseases. Likewise, according to the Department of National Planning, health costs associated with urban air pollution in Colombia to 2015 amount to $ 15.4 Billion, equivalent to 1.93% of GDP for that year, which markedly decreases the quality of life of citizens. So it is urgent to solve this problem, such as strengthening the existing regulations and improving the effectiveness of the controls exercised by the state on those who pollute the air, however, this alternative can only be given in the long term and would imply an additional budget allocation, meanwhile, The welfare of citizens continues to deteriorate, which implies a negative social, economic and cultural impact. Fortunately, there are reactive measures that, although they will not reduce the concentration of polluting agents, are available to citizens, such as the use of cabin air filters. These filters are made with activated carbon, a product that retains PM 2.5 (particulate material up to 2.5 micrometers) and gases, which are the most harmful materials for humans. The purpose of this project is to carry out a feasibility study, knowing the behavior of the market for the implementation of vehicular air conditioning filters in Bogotá. The results of this project will allow the promotion of an awareness campaign to expand its use and improve the quality of life of citizens.
