Análisis y fortalecimiento del Plan de Gestión Integral de Residuos Sólidos (PGIRS) en la Plaza de Mercado de Paloquemao

Abstract

This internship was developed with the aim of raising awareness and strengthening the Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan (PGIRS), which has been redesigned since 2023 by intern Laura Lara. Improvements for proper waste collection have been implemented in the Plaza de Paloquemao, considered one of the most important squares in Bogotá. As one of the city's 44 market squares, it generates a wide variety of waste on a daily basis. The main objective was to improve waste management, focusing especially on raising awareness among operators and merchants about the proper separation of waste, observing how the waste collection service can be improved by organizing schedules and structuring a pilot plan to serve as a guide for the future implementation of schedules for garbage collection routes, which can be applied by another intern or person in charge of the market.
