Resumen
The image contains news about a report from an administrative commission of justice in the Republic of New Granada, dated October 10, 1856 and addressed to the Governor of the province. The Legislature has requested the publication in the official newspaper of the report and draft resolution prepared by the third commission of administration of justice, which details the number of criminal and civil cases processed in the Judicial District Court and in the Circuit Courts of the province during this year. The report reveals that, although 48 criminal and 64 civil cases have been definitively disposed of in the Court, in addition to numerous interlocutory, liability, treasury and military cases, the data provided is insufficient and does not allow for a perfect judgment on the administration of justice. In the Circuit Courts, varied dispatches are observed: Bogotá with 114 cases dispatched and 865 pending, Zipaquirá with 21 dispatched and 82 pending, and Chocontá with 26 dispatched, while in others, such as La Palma and civil cases in general, the information is incomplete or non-existent. The report also highlights the ineffectiveness of the Commercial Court, which has not definitively disposed of any case. The commission concludes that the situation is unsatisfactory, mainly due to deficiencies in the legislation and the lack of complete data, and proposes to archive and publish the report for general knowledge. News published in El Repertorio. October 25, 1856.
