Abstract

The image contains news about Decree Number 62 of 1889, the first in a series that deals with the study plan of the National University. The decree is made up of several provisions. Firstly, the segregation of the Faculty of Law of the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario is decreed to integrate the National University, establishing its own administrative structure. In addition, the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters was expanded with the incorporation of new courses and a Lyceum was founded to teach elementary subjects. The decree also establishes the salaries of teaching and administrative staff, as well as the preferential right of graduates of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters to access positions in the same and in departmental public schools.
