Resumen
The 'Dis-connected' project is an artistic proposal that seeks to represent the fragmented lives of inhabitants in downtown Bogotá at the end of the 20th century, with an emphasis on those marginalized from post-industrial society. The first chapter analyzes the characteristics of these 'dis-connected' individuals, who live in a social labyrinth that induces paranoia and identity crisis. The second chapter examines the urban context of Bogotá as a microcosm of fragmentation and overlapping realities, based on urban theories and aesthetics. Historical influences are explored, from the Renaissance to the avant-garde movements, reflecting on the crisis of rationality and the collapse of modern utopias.
The third chapter studies iconographic elements of the urban space, showing how ordinary objects are transformed into art through aesthetic recontextualization. The importance of formalizing an artistic discourse that reflects the complexity of the urban environment is highlighted, culminating in a technical description of the project that includes chromatic and compositional analyses. The proposal is materialized in a mixed media technique on galvanized steel, fusing elements of billboards and muralism for its exhibition in public spaces.
