Resumen
This thesis focuses on the diversity of epiphytic macrofungi at the “La Franja” farm, located in Vianí, Cundinamarca, aiming to contribute to the knowledge of these organisms in Colombia, where studies on them remain limited. Epiphytic fungi, which grow on plants without harming them, play crucial ecological roles in the forest canopy, such as regulating the microclimate and retaining nutrients. To explore their diversity and distribution, sampling plots were established at different tree strata, where representative specimens were collected and analyzed. Through this research, ten species of macrofungi were identified, their characteristics recorded in a database, and a field guide was developed to facilitate their identification. The results reveal a rich fungal biodiversity in the region, influenced by climatic factors such as humidity and temperature variability, which affect their distribution and growth. Additionally, as an educational complement, activities were designed to raise awareness in the local community about the importance of these fungi in ecosystem conservation.
